Dealing with Bayview that left me feeling like I had just spent months in The Twilight Zone. We received a letter out of the blue stating we did not carry insurance for our commercial rental properties and policies had been purchased for us.

The cost was 50% higher than the policies we had purchased ourselves. Despite numerous calls from myself and my insurance agent to Bayview's offices in Ohio, they still persisted in telling us we had no insurance. My agent and I faxed declaration pages, certificate of insurance pages and copies policies to no avail. I finally lost it during one particularly frustrating call offering to fly everyone from the Ohio office to Massachusetts for lunch with my agent to clear up their confusion.

I was not paying for these policies; and the charges were added to the mortgage payments (that I was making in full). They reported us to the credit bureaus for delinquency. After 5 MONTHS of this nonsense, Bayview finally accepted that we had insurance and cancelled their policy. I can't help but wonder if Bayview gets a cut from the insurance company they contract with knowing that a certain percentage of people will eventually give up and accept the other policy because they get worn down by the fight.

The second issue came after we were granted a modification request that effectively lowered monthly payments from $2700 mo to $1700 mo.

We appreciated this greatly as it lowered our interest rates from 'absurdly high' to 'high'. Four months into this 'honeymoon' we received a statement indicating that the $1700 mo payment would hereafter be $4400 mo. It took two weeks, 5 separate representatives, and many sedatives (taken by me to keep my sanity) to finally be told they had paid overdue water/sewer charges for us and escrowed $12,000.00 over 12 months. They did this for 3 properties for a total of $6000 in extra payments each month.

I contacted them about another modification and had the dubious pleasure of having my case assigned to a Ms. Julie Butera. Ms. Butera, who gets up on the wrong side of the bed every morning, I am sure, could not grasp the idea that having agreed with us 6 months before that we could not afford our original payments, it was illogical for Bayview to expect us to be able to afford even higher payments.

In the end, we had no choice but to forgo making payments and are in he process of having the properties sold for far less than their value. To paraphrase Abba Eban, 'Bayview never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity.'

Amusing. I had the pleasure of working with Julie on the acquisition of a building that was in her portfolio of assets.

I think you crystallized her mood perfectly: wakes up on the wrong side of the bed. What an awful being. I usually start off with people by being nice and courteous--which i did with her. Even still, i was met with an ultra *** attitude and just an awful demeanor throughout.

I heard from someone who works with her she is obese and grotesque so perhaps she looks to take it out on the rest of the world.

The building i bought worked out great and the market has obviously improved so she can *** herself b/c i won and she lost.

You might try calling the State of Florida and/or Ohio's Insurance commissioner's office and report the problem. I did not but wish I had as it might have expedited a resolution.

I have been faxing my proff of hazzard insurance for 3 months now. Each time I call they say they have not recieved it.

Each time I call I get a different response. I finally got an email address to fax proff of insurance, and I am hoping this will work. Meanwhile, they are also charging me about %50 marked up price insurance. I feel like they are giving me the run around so they can keep charging me this high priced insurance.

I wish I could afford a lawyer to help me. This is so crazy and fustrating!
